Smart greenhouses in horticultural VET education and training
Emerging horticultural professions under the VET 4.0 strategy

The first multiplier event of the Horticulture 4.0 project took place on 17 October 2023 between 9:00 and 13:00 in Makó. The aim of the event was to raise the awareness of the target group of the project (horticulture VET teachers) about the upcoming online learning content on techniques for smart greenhouses.  

The meeting was opened by Dr. József Horváth of the Director of the Alföld Agricultural Training Centre.

At the event, the host and project coordinator Zoltán Horváth, the director of the Alföldi ASZC Makó Agricultural Technical and Vocational School of Galamb József, presented the project and the planned course.
Sándor Farkas, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, also accepted the invitation to the event and stated that the government supports both vocational education and farmers. 


The event also included presentations on agriculture and modern technology:

Dr. Zoltán Pék, Professor - MATE, Institute of Horticultural Sciences spoke about the state of education on Intelligent Greenhouses in horticultural VET education and higher education. 

Dr. József Lengyel Managing Director PROMPT-H Computer Education and Services Ltd. gave a presentation on the hot topic of today: the application of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture and education.

Ákos Koós, Head of Department, Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd. Biomass Production and Utilization Department had the topic of the Education and Research in the framework of international calls for proposals.

At the end of the event, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and about the planned training.
